Board Member Biography

Mike RobertsMike Roberts
 

Mike Roberts is currently retired after a career with the state of Washington spanning over 30 years. Most recently Mike was employed by the Office of Financial Management as a Senior Budget Assistant in the areas of transportation and Capital Construction/Finance. During his time with OFM, Mike was tasked with the responsibilities of being the state’s representative to the finance team and the board that were responsible for the original tobacco securitization deal. Mike also held several positions with Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction with responsibilities in a number of functions.

Mike has served as Governor Locke’s representative to the Transportation Improvement Board. He also represented the Governor, the Office of Financial Management and the Superintendent of Public Instruction on a number of boards, committees and legislative studies related to school construction, public works contracting methods, transportation finance, public building contracting and financing alternatives, and state trust land management.

After retirement, Mike began work with the Highline School District as a consultant on the Aviation High School Project and has worked part time with the Washington Higher Education Facilities Authority to enable a low cost student loan program.

Mike holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Washington.
